Irene

Irene was born in Barcelona on the 20th of June, 1996. She obtained her degree in Chemistry in 2018 after attending the “Universitat Rovira i Virgili” of Tarragona. During the last semester of her degree, she moved to Leuven where she held her bachelor’s Thesis in Organic Chemistry. She then did an internship for a year at the chemical company BASF, giving analytical and technical support to the Sustainability Unit in Tarragona’s plant.

Samiha

Samiha was born in Bangladesh and obtained her degree in Pharmacy with the prestigious Summa Cum Laude from East West University. She pursued her career as the Quality Control Executive of Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Quality Control Apprentice of the Multi-national company Sanofi. She was also appointed as the Teaching Assistant of her University. Her passion is Teaching, playing Volleyball and enlightening the world with improved healthcare.

After graduation, Samiha commenced her carrier as a faculty of a University in Department of Pharmacy in Bangladesh. Also, she is associated with Cosmetics Consultant Europe.

The entire journey with Erasmus EMOTION program is a cornerstone for my carrier and life. This experience has made me more resilient and determined. I am grateful to all my EMOTION mentors and friends.

 

Gabriela

Gabriela

Gabriela has 23 years old and she is from Arequipa, Perú. She has graduated as Biotechnology Engineer at the Catholic University of Santa Maria. She has worked as a trainee in a research project in her home university for one year and then performed an internship at the Technical University of Munich in Germany.

After graduation, Gabriela Manrique started working in the cosmetic product development and testing field in Spain.

The moment I will always cherish of my years in EMOTION was the opportunity to learn about what I am passionate about from experts in the field and the experiences I had with the amazing people I met during those two years. EMOTION was definitely a one-time life experience!

Galib

Galib

Galib was born in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. He grew up as a big fan of football and ventriloquism. Galib completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy from North South University where his research interest was focused on ‘Bioremediation’ and ‘In Silico Drug Design’. He has gained expertise in both wet lab and dry lab skills by working 28 months in the R&D department of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

After graduation, Galib started his career as a Project Assistant in a Network of Excellence (NoE) focused on paediatric research and based in Europe. Concurrently, Galib is serving as a faculty member in one of the universities from Bangladesh.

Picking one moment from this EMOTION rollercoaster ride is like choosing only one scoop of gelato from gelateria! So, while I leave that untold and unheard, I am eternally grateful to the amazing fifteen souls who turn out to be my friend and my home away from home. Particularly to my tutors and coordinators from EMOTION for developing me one way or another and providing me with wisdom, not just knowledge.

Rita was born in Guatemala and obtained her degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. She has worked in the transnational pharmaceutical industry in research and development, regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance.

Margareta

Margareta is a pharmacist who was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada with the specialization in Industrial Pharmacy. After graduation, she worked as a Quality Supervisor at a pharmaceutical distributor with main responsibilities in quality system and regulatory compliance.

After graduation, Margareta started working in the cosmetics industry in Indonesia as a responsible scientist for conducting clinical study.

Being a part of EMOTION is truly a wonderful and remarkable experience for me. EMOTION plays a big role to shape myself, both as a professional and a personal. This journey lets me learn about the world and give me a second home, far away from home.

Bao Ngoc

Bao, 24 years old, was born in Hanoi. She obtained her bachelor degree in Biology (Talented program) from VNU University of Science, Vietnam. She had two years of research experience in Nano Biology & Application Unit, KLEPT and one month of laboratory exchange in Kitakyushu University, Japan.

Rebeka

Rebeka was born in Korçë, Albania in 1997 and moved to Tirana, where she obtained her bachelor degree in Biotechnology. During these years she undertook 3 internships related to clinical analysis, microbiology and project management. She has also attended a Master in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology.

After graduation, Rebeka started working in the clinical research field as a Project Manager in a Clinical Research Organization in Italy.

Dita

Dita received her Bachelor degree for Bioprocess Engineering from the Engineering faculty of Universitas Indonesia in 2015. In 2016 she started her work in Unilever Indonesia in the Research & Development Department starting from Foods category to Homecare category, with her latest position as Assistant R&D Manager for Water category Indonesia. After a 6 months stint in Cosmetic category, she found her dream to develop Personal Care & Cosmetic products, which leads her path to join the EMOTION Program.

Maida was born in Montevideo Uruguay and obtained her degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2017 at Universidad de la República. She has worked in the Technology Transfer department of an international pharmaceutical company, where she did the scale up of several products.

After graduation, Maida started working in the Medical Device and Cosmetic industry as a Product Development Specialist in the Netherlands.

The moment I will always cherish of my years in EMOTION was the semester we spent all together in Novara enjoying Italy. EMOTION was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. It allowed me to meet very good friends and to grow as a person and professional.

Roman

Roman was born in Severodonetsk (Luhansk region, Ukraine). He obtained his bachelor and master degrees in Organic Chemistry at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Kiev). In 2018 he spent one semester at Uppsala University (Sweden) with an Exchange Mobility Program. He has also gained work experience through a 4-year internship in organic synthesis at Enamine Ltd.

After graduation, Roman was enrolled in a Ph.D. program in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine field in the European Union.

The moment I will always cherish of my years in EMOTION was our first semester in Novara when Covid did not exist and we were excited about the future route of our studies and career prospectives. EMOTION has taught me that life is full of unexpected things but we can adapt to anything and we can count on the support from EMOTION people (coordinators, students and teachers).

Daniele received her degree in Biomedicine from the Federal University of Alfenas, Brazil, with part of her studies being held at the University of Arizona (Tucson, USA). She worked as a visiting researcher at the University of California (San Diego, USA) and has professional experience as clinical analyst.

After graduation, Daniele started working in the Medical Device industry as a Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical affairs Manager in Belgium.

The moment I will always cherish of my years in EMOTION was the time I spend together with my peers in Novara learning how people from different parts of the world can still be so alike. The EMOTION program was absolutely essential in my integration in the European country and in my personal growth.

Cathy was born in The Netherlands, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University. During her studies, she went on exchange to the University of Sydney. After graduating she started an internship at Unilever in Global Brand Development of Baby care and stayed as Jr. Assistant Brand Manager.

Dimitra

Dimitra (26 years old) was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She studied at the Agricultural University of Athens, in the Department of Biotechnology, where she obtained her degree in Agricultural Science and Engineering. After graduation, she worked for APIVITA, a Greek natural cosmetics company, as an assistant in the biochemical laboratory, where she discovered her passion for research.

Elixabet was born in San Sebastian (Spain) in 1992 and obtained her degree in Pharmacy. Then she held a Master in Biomedical Research in Barcelona. She has worked as a community pharmacist for 3 years.

Sara was born in Lisbon, Portugal. At age 15 she moved to Luxembourg where she completed her high school studies. In 2015 at 18 years old she moved to Brighton, UK to attend the University of Sussex. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science.
