* Please note that an ORIGINAL is a document certified by the institution awarding the degree. Some Universities provide graduates with more copies of their diplomas, one of which is considered the original and other certified copies. In this case, the certified copy stamped and signed by the institution awarding the degree is considered an ORIGINAL.
** The “dichiarazione di valore” (declaration of value) is an informative document describing the qualification awarded to a given person by an institution belonging to an education system other than the Italian system. It is used by the competent University offices to assess a given qualification for the purpose of admission to a degree programme or for recognition of the foreign qualification. It is usually issued by the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country where the qualification was awarded. It generally contains the following information: legal status and type of issuing institution; access requirements for the programme resulting in the qualification; legal duration of the study programme and/or overall commitment required of the student in terms of credits or hours; value of the qualification in the system/country where it was issued, i.e. for academic and/or professional purposes.
The declaration of value can be replaced by:
- a Diploma Supplement, based on the European Commission form, for academic qualifications awarded by institutions in countries in the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Process). Those wishing to enrol in a second cycle degree programme are not required to submit a certificate listing the exams or the syllabus;
- attestations issued by ENIC-NARIC centres that contain all the information usually listed in the declaration of value and necessary for the evaluation of the degree.
- If the Country that issued your Degree adheres to the Lisbon Convention https://www.enic-naric.net/, the certificate referring to the comparability of qualifications can be downloaded directly and free of charge through https://ardi.cimea.it/en. In addition to this certificate, you will have to provide us with the Certificate of Verification issued by the CIMEA centre https://www.cimea.it/EN/

If the Country that issued your Degree does not adhere to the Lisbon Convention https://www.enic-naric.net/, you will have to provide us with both the Certificate of Comparability and the Certificate of Verification issued by the CIMEA centre https://www.cimea.it/EN/
pagina-cimea-diplome.
*** Please note that you can provide these two types of documents as a proof of residence:
1) The residence certificate that can be issued by a municipality according to normal registration rules;
2) In the countries where a residence certificate is not possible to obtain, a certificate from the candidate’s place of work or study or training issued by the employer or institution is also sufficient.
If neither of these options is viable, you can auto-certify the residence, if well supported by documents (phone bills, electricity bills etc) and a declaration of honour signed by yourself confirming the validity of these documents. This is the last option, though, and you should try to fulfil either point 1 or point 2.
We also wish to remind the applicants that the residence certification should be issued within 12 months before pre-enrolment. This means that you can possibly obtain a document from a previous employer or place of study as well.
Late, incomplete, or irregular documents will lead to a cancellation of the admission.
If the irregularities are found out at a later stage, it is at the discretion of the Joint Consortium Board to determine the consequences. Please be aware that any scholarship payments you might have received by then will have to be fully returned by you, and there will be no compensation for expenses you had (e.g. travel or accommodation).
The EMOTION Induction Week starts in mid-September.
Be sure to arrive in Novara the week before.
To get ready for your departure, read the EMOTION UPO handbook.
