Burocratic matters
The Emotion Master and the University provide an office that will help you deal will visa and other issues in your own country.
Furthermore, the Emotion Master employs a facilitator that will liaise with the welcome office of the University on your arrival to chaperone you on all administrative procedures you need to undertake (e.g. residency permit, social security number, bank account).
Italian as a foreign language
The University and the Emotion Master provide both crash and basic courses in Italian as a foreign language for students. At the end of the academic year, there will be the possibility for students to acquire a certification (e.g. A1, A2, B1), paying a small fee (info here).
UPO offers to international students “Rosetta Stone Advantage for Higher Education”: an e-Learning solution to learn Italian for all proficiency levels. International students must register on this page (see instructions).

Canteen
The University has in Novara a central canteen that is located in the center of town and another canteen that is located in the department of pharmaceutical sciences, where the courses will be held. With the student card provided to students by the regional student services meals will be paid at a significantly subsidized rate.

Erasmus and foreign students office
If you are going to engage yourself in a nurturing and exciting experience at our University, your reference point will be the Erasmus and Foreign Students Office.
It deals with incoming students mobility for studies and placement, and offers a qualified support to EU and non-EU students.
The Office coordinates the administrative and organizational aspects of the various activities by interfacing with the representatives of both the internal structures and partner Universities abroad. It gives the necessary help to fulfil the formal requirements to stay in Italy.

Sports
The University has a sporting society that coordinates a number of activities. Teams for a number of sports also exist, that you may join. CUSPO organize a take parte in competitions on local, national and international level; is possible take parte in sport individually or as a team. Partnerships with locals offer discounts for students. Furthermore, the University runs a gym in the center of town to which you can subscribe at a significantly subsidized price. Music
In the University there is the Orchestra and the Choir in which students can take part. The activity encompasses the entire music scene. They promote concerts by walking various stages. For more information, see the website.
Theatre
If you like theatre you can take part in the project “Tillit. Theatre in Language, Language in Theatre”. It is an educational activity proposed by the degree course in modern foreign languages. At the end of each year, four groups from our University, followed by driving instructors and a professional theatre, stage a play in the different languages in such a way that the students can learn and improve foreign languages. Radio 6023
If you are passionate about radio, you can join the Radio 6023 association, the webradio of students at the University of Eastern Piedmont, which every year involves more and more people. The key words of this team are: entertainment, communication and lots of music.

ARRIVING TO ELCHE (SPAIN)
Spanish language course
Incoming students interested in improving their Spanish language skills can do so in two ways:
1. During the two weeks prior to each semester every academic year, the UMH Service for International Relations offers, to all incoming students in international programs, the possibility to enroll in free intensive courses aiming to improve the student’s skills in Spanish and provide a knowledge and understanding of their new cultural environment
2. Regular semester-long Spanish as a second language courses are offered by the UMH School of Languages. Students are offered multiple levels and a professional tuition for affordable, convenient fees thanks to the reductions given to incoming participants in international mobility programs.
Housing
Since the UMH does not get students’ dorms yet, there are several housing options for international students coming to our campuses:
- Renting a room or sharing a flat with our online NIDO platform, through which local landlords and students can get in contact before the start of the stay.
- Through the UMH partnership with the international company HousingAnywhere, to book your accommodation before your arrival, Universitas Miguel Hernándezrecommends HousingAnywhere, the international housing platform for students and trainees. Orientation period and welcome, cultural activities
International incoming students are individually received, informed, advised and enrolled by our staff in our International Relations Service at their arrival to the UMH.
During their first weeks in our university and, apart from the fact that incoming students are assigned with a fellow Spanish student in our “Buddy” program, our International Service organizes welcome, informative meetings in each UMH campus, plus an International Welcome Party with the help of our “Erasmus+ Club Experience” group of UMH Spanish students.
Students are encouraged to take part in all the activities organized by the UMH community and Services at the beginning of each new academic year: HERE, including guided visits to the towns surrounding our several campuses HERE and also helping citizens’ initiatives in our neighborhood by taking part in language exchange lessons.
Sports
The UMH offers a wide range of sportive activities to its students, since one of our Faculties and several of our Centers are particularly devoted to that field with a large number of sport facilities to offer to our incoming students.
The UMH offers a large variety of sports to participate in, as well as sporting installations, training courses, and open-air activities you can sign up for during your stay. The UMH Sports Office located on the Elche Campus can inform you of all the possibilities.
Most of the sporting installations at the UMH are located on the Elche Campus. It has paddle tennis courts, a pool, multi-sport courts, and a golf course. At the UMH Sport Pavilion, there are multi-disciplinary rooms where you can practice dance, wrestling, spinning, fitness, aerobics, boxing, gymnastics, Pilates, or have a cardiovascular workout to help keep fit. The Orihuela Campus also has paddle tennis courts, a rugby pitch, and multi-sport courts.
To participate in UMH sports, you can acquire the TDU Sporting Card (TDU Tarjeta Deportiva); highly recommended if you would like to take part in several sports or would like to combine sporting participation with attending the UMH gymnasium, among others. You can acquire this card from the UMH Sports Office; to do so you must provide a passport-sized photo, and this will then provide you access to the weight room and the pool, among other options. If you would like to reserve a multi-sport or paddle court, send an email to [email protected]. To acquire a pool voucher, visit the concierge in the Altabix and Hélike buildings.
Throughout the semester, the UMH Sports Office offers the possibility of practicing multiple sporting activities; the proposals will arrive via email or via online personal access as a UMH student. If you would like to sign up for competitions with the UMH sports teams, contact the UMH Sports Office for information on how to do just this.

ARRIVING TO NAMUR (BELGIUM)
French language course
2. Regular semester-long French as a second language courses. This course is taught for two hours every week, is worth 3 ECTS credits and is offered at three levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). The course is offered for free to all exchange or regular registered international students.
Housing
There are two housing options for international students on campus (all consist of individual rooms with a private sink but shared kitchen and bathroom facilities; all rooms cost 305€ per month all charges included):
1. International house: one living unit with only exchange or international students.
2. Individual student rooms in a “kot-à-projet (KAP)”. A KAP is a shared living arrangement in a house, hallway or floor composed of 5-8 students who, while living together are carrying out a project under a certain theme. Such a project may involve organizing activities for other students as well as nearby residents and their children. Each KAP specializes in a specific field, for example relating to culture, humanitarian or social assistance, sports, or the protection of the environment.
Two weeks of orientation
This event is offered prior to the fall semester during the first two weeks of September of every year. It aims at enabling incoming international students to have some time to acclimatize to live in Namur and settle down before the academic year starts on around Sep 15.
The two weeks consist of French or English as a second language classes worth 3 ECTS credits and cultural, touristic, administrative and social activities and are a good way to meet other exchange and international students.
