APPLICATION
OVERVIEW
There are three kinds of applicants for the EMOTION programme:
- Erasmus+ scholarship applicants
- non-fee paying self-funded applicants
- fee paying self-funded applicants.
STUDENTS WITH
ERASMUS+ SCHOLARSHIP
Students with Erasmus+ Scholarship receive a scholarship of 1.400 euros per month for 24 months.
They do not have to pay participation costs. Their health insurance, university registration and student services are covered. Scholarship holders are required to cover the cost of mobility (e.g. travel, visa, residence permit fees) according to the obligatory EMOTION mobility path from their monthly scholarships.
There are no additional payments for travel and installation.
NON-FEE PAYING
SELF-FUNDED STUDENTS
Non-fee paying self-funded students do not have to pay participation costs.
Their health insurance, university registration and student services are covered. They have instead to cover their living, housing and travel costs, including accommodation and travel costs according to the mandatory EMOTION mobility path.*
FEE-PAYING
SELF-FUNDED STUDENTS
Fee-paying self-funded students are required to pay participation costs.
The participation costs are € 4,500 per academic year (€ 9,000 in total). They include university registration and student services.
They do not include costs for living, housing and travel, including accommodation and travel costs related to the mandatory EMOTION mobility path.**
* When applying for the student visa, extra-EU non-fee paying self-funded students have to prove that they have the financial means to cover the living costs for the two-year-study programme including the mobility.
**When applying for the student visa, extra-EU fee-paying self-funded students have to prove that they have the financial means to cover their participation and living costs for the two-year-study programme including the mobility.

In each of the above cases, you may be contacted at a later stage in the application process to verify your language skills.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
For extra-EU applicants, candidates are responsible to meet the visa requirements for the countries in which each host institution is located, although the Masters’ secretariat will provide advice.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The link for applying will be accessible:
From February 1st until February 28th for the first round.
From May 1st until May 31st for the second round.
All deadlines are 23.59 hrs CET.
The application process is organised by the University of Piemonte Orientale and all the required documents must be submitted online (moduli.uniupo.it).
The application and selection procedure has two rounds:
A first round that will select the scholarship holders and the non-fee paying self-funded applicants, which will open and close in February every year.
At the application stage, you need to indicate if you are applying for a place with scholarship and/or for a non-fee paying self-funded place. In indicating the option, bear in mind that extra-EU non-fee paying self-funded students, when applying for the visa, have to prove that they have the financial means to cover the living costs for the two-year-study programme including the mobility. Please do not apply as non-fee paying self-funded student if you do not fulfil this requirement.
- While there is no formal restriction in the number of applications a student might submit, we generally recommend to potential applicants to choose carefully the master courses on the basis of the preconditions/selection criteria described on the websites of the respective Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) and on the motivation to pursue the program.
A second round for fee-paying self-funded applicants which will open and close in May every year.
Bear in mind that, when applying for the student visa, extra-EU fee-paying self-funded students have to prove that they have the financial means to cover their participation and living costs for the two-year-study programme including the mobility.
